Feng Shui - What is Space? |

Space is ...
Space holds information. Space is the non-manifested reality. Using the ancient principles of Feng Shui we are able to access the information hidden in space. Out of the River Lo, 6,000 years ago, a mystical giant tortoise appeared carrying a symbolic diagram that was the origin for the ancient’s concept of space. This diagram shown below, called the Lo Shu, is the basis of Feng Shui today. Often referred to as the Magic 9 Squares, this energetic map embodies the symbolic Feng Shui influence present in a certain direction, while each number carries the many hidden meanings of the Trigrams. Knowing the element of time is reflected in this Lo Shu and understanding that time is constantly changing in a predetermined pattern, we know that these numbers follow this dynamic pattern and thus change locations or directions. It is this pattern of movement that is most significant in this 9 square chart because it reveals the Feng Shui influences as they relate to change over time. The positioning of these numbers is determined by two important pieces of information: the age a building was built and the direction the building faces. Based on these vital statistics, Feng Shui influences can be detected, predicted and adjusted in order to attain a more harmonious living or working environment.
Time is ...
Time is a collection of viewpoints grouped together that create the appearance of sequence that we call reality. Time is a point of agreement by which we assess the movement of energy through space. In Feng Shui, the Chinese measure time using a Grand Cycle of 180 years. This is broken into 3 Periods of 60 years each. These 3 Periods are further divided into 3 Ages of 20 years each. The result is 9 Ages that significantly influence Flying Star Feng Shui. These nine ages and numbers from above are energetically influenced and directly associated with the Big Dipper.
Energy is ...
Energy is that which life uses to accomplish its goals. We shape and utilize energy in all areas and all levels of our individual lives. In Chinese philosophy, Energy is called Chi. Chi is the vital life force that is in and around everything. Without it nothing would exist. According to the Chinese everything is alive with Chi, everything is interconnected by Chi and Chi is constantly changing. Of the three levels of Chinese philosophy - Heaven, Human and Earth - Feng Shui addresses the Chi of the Earth and its influence on Human fortune.
